Shannon is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she received her Doctorate in Audiology and is currently employed at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Joshua is a graduate of College of Southwest where he received his Bachelor in Finance and employed as the manager at W.L. Kidd Oilfield Services. Hayley graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and is now pursuing her Masters in Accounancy at the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Smith III, a third generation chiropractor, graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, Texas, and recently joined his father in practice. The couple was engaged October 23, in Waco, Texas, and they are planning to exchange vows in May 2011 in El Paso, Texas. James and Gladys Blount 50th Wedding Anniversary James and Gladys Blount will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on November 14. They married in El Paso, Texas in 1960. They have three grown children, James II (wife Carolina), Gladys, and Janet, and a grandson, Gregory. Their family has traveled and lived extensively in the United States and Europe due to James' military career. James served in the U.S. Army for 30 years and retired at the rank of 1SG. He then attended UTEP and worked as a computer technician and repair man for more than a decade after retiring from military service. Gladys graduated from UTEP while her children were finishing high school and built her career traveling with her husband and held managerial positions to include the Director of Defense Schools ultimately retiring after teaching more than 20 years for the El Paso Independent School District.
