Members of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at right pushed their bed in front of three other fraternities during the annual Greek Week bed race Monday on the UTEP campus. They settled for second place after they were overtaken by Kappa Sigma, in red. Four  fraternities and three sororities ran the race, whith Zeta Tau Alpha winning the sorority race. Greek Week contines all week with various activities. For a schedule of events call the UTEP Student Development Center at 747-5670.

Franklin High School students Joe Arellano, left, and Richard Torres watched a movie on a small video player as they donated blood in the school's auxiliary gym during an annual school blood drive Wednesday. Lisa Thompson, student activities coordinator, said 400 students had signed up to give blood. This year's drive was dedicated to three of the school's students, Margaret Hussman, Matt Hicks and David Cox who died of cancer recently. Thompson and a United Blood Services official said the school is number one nationwide out of 651 high schools for the number of blood units donated and the community support it provides.
