5th Annual Puzzler

35-mile racers got started during the 5th Annual Puzzler mountain bike race Sunday on the Bowen Ranch in far Northeast El Paso. Racers competed in a 50-mile endurance race, a 35-mile race and a 10-mile fun ride. The race takes riders along both East and West sides the Frankliin Mountains State Park. Starting with 25 racers its first year, the event drew 175 this year, with some from as far as Louisiana, Wisconsin and Michigan, said co-promoter Brent Sanders.  The El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau is the title sponsor of the race with other sponsors, including Hunt Communities, Sanders said. Rudy Gutierrez/El Paso Times
